Animals for sale

For the past 5 years we have been culling very extensively.
We are doing this to reach the goal that are animals have the best beef traits possible, while still maintaining the "Traditional" style we prefer.

We have been culling for:
Good strong back-lines; The best cuts are along the back, so your animals must have this trait.
All other traits that a good beef animal requires:

Good width & length.

Easy breeding; If a cow doesn't breed easily every time she isn't worth keeping.

Easy calving; Highlands seem to have this trait down on their own.
27 years of Highland breeding & we have only pulled 1 calf.

No crop ear;
We are 1 of the few farms that look at this as a trait that can be culled & still maintain the traits we desire.

At this time we have the following animals available:

6 - outstanding 2 1/2 - 3 year old heifers (Some bred)

4 - heifers that are 1 - 1 3/4 year old

5 - 3/4 - 1 year old heifers

We are very proud of all of these heifers & know they would make a great addition to anyone's herd.

All but 2 of these heifers are out of our current herd sire Sunset Jeremiah.
Jeremiah is a son of Gusgurlach of Windrush who is owned by the Murray's of Sunset Farm, Ashton, Ontario, Canada. They have been very successful in showing Gus's offspring.

Jeremiah's offspring  are mainly Dark red in color with some Brindle,  Yellow & 2 Black.

A couple of our yearling & 2 year old heifers would compete very well in the show ring!!!

Locustbrae's Ban Righ Geamhradh
(Ban Ree Gyav'ra ...Winter Queen)

We also have some very good bull calves at this time with the best being:

  Chailein Riabhach of Locustbrae

(Hhal'inn Ree'aah - Brindled Colin)

(a brindle  son of Locustbrae's Butcher Billy who is a son of Sunset Jeremiah.)
Chailein looks like a very good show prospect with "Traditional looks & good growth".
He looks very much like his Grand dad at this age.

&

Locustbrae's Donnachadh

(Dohn'a'hha - Duncan, Brown Chief)

Locustbrae's Donnachadh
(a dun son of Locustbrae's Butcher Billy. Donnachadh has shown incredible growth & has great width.)

We also have 2 son's off Jeremiah that look very good.
1 Red Locustbrae's Craig Ruadh
1 black Locustbrae's Ardan Dubh

We do offer any of our cattle in the herd for sale.

Prices vary depending on the quality of the animal you are interested in.
If you look at the Dams, Heifers, & Bull Calves pages you will see what cattle we have on the farm at this time.

We know that every animal must be for sale.
Some just will be a higher price as we would like to use them in our own breeding program before we offer them for sale;
but if you want them they are available.

We will give price breaks if more than one animal is bought at a time.

We are always looking for the bull that will bring us closer to our goals.
